Does the general public really know what they are expecting or want out of an “organic” product that is not internally ingested?

It is obviously more complicated to certify an external product with “combined” ingredients as “Organic” than it is an ingested food product. I feel that the guidelines, or standards if you will, are much more vague for this category than for the food industry.  This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue with the medical community as they continue to discover how many of these ingredients are actually absorbed through the skin and end up in the bloodstream similar to having ingested them orally. This “trans-dermal” absorption can lead to either advantages results or dire accumulated results, depending on the ingredient in question.

The consequences of absorbing ingredients through the skin will continue to grow in public awareness. Even the medical community today, has only scratched the surface as to how much of an impact “trans-dermal absorption” has on an individual and even more so on an infant or toddler.  Personally, I would never purchase a product for my baby/child that was not at least natural and preferably organic. Little ones are too susceptible to the “inexpensive chemicals” that have become such common ingredients in everyday mainstream products.

As a previously admitted cosmetics junkie, it is difficult for me to really get excited about any of my make-up purchases.  I've tried lipstick that claimed to make my lips softer and stay on "for hours", I've bought all six of the "eye products" necessary to apparently achieve a particular look which I've never been able to duplicate, but this is by far the best makeup purchase I have ever made.  

I had never encountered this brand before (amazingly), but I wanted to try a new liquid foundation and there was the Tarte Cosmetics @tartecosmetics display at my favorite Sephora store in San Francisco.  The tester they had out just happed to be my exact color, it wasn't too expensive and amazingly Natural AND Eco-Friendly!! So why not?

Now I can't tell you how many times I've made "impulse" makeup purchases (which is why I love Sephora) and been disappointed, so I wasn't expecting great things, just some new make-up that I knew at least matched my skin tone exactly.  But this foundation far surpassed even my very high expectations!  It has incredible coverage, always looks natural and never heavy and actually does help with the look of "fine lines".  I was amazed... My co-workers all commented on how great my skin looked the next day and a couple of them even went out and bought it for themselves!

To everyone at Tarte Cosmetics, Wow! and thank you for coming up with a new cosmetic idea that not only looks fantastic, but is good for my skin!

I can easily attest to the fact that I spend an incredible amount of time and money on wine and beauty products. Obviously two of my favorite things.  My opinions are very specific and I feel that, since happily we are all different, there will never be one thing to please everyone.  So that isn't what I'm trying to do.

However, I love giving my opinions on things, especially beauty products, and you can be sure to find some good information here.

I was told recently that the "happiest" demographic in the US right now, are divorced women over 40.

I am not a divorced woman over 40.

I am wondering if there is any truth in this statement?

If you live in San Francisco, or anywhere else that has no sun in the summer, this product is a must have! Gives fabulous color with no running or streaking. Lasts all day & all night, but washes clean the next day.
